Rachel Thompson’s commitment to healthcare began in high school while interning at her hometown hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from McMurry University in Abilene, Texas—where her eldest son, Alex, now proudly continues the family tradition as a defensive back on the McMurry University football team and aspires to become an occupational therapist.
With over two decades of experience in the healthcare industry, Rachel has served in diverse roles including risk management, front office administration, coding and billing, office management, as a medical assistant, and in marketing. Her professional background spans legal, dermatology, neurology, internal medicine, family practice, endocrinology, and surgical specialties, as well as marketing and leadership roles within skilled nursing facilities, long-term care, and home health organizations.
Rachel’s professional interests center on marketing, relationship building, and community engagement. Since joining Comanche County Medical Center Health System in November 2023, she has focused on improving healthcare access, educating the public about the importance of rural health, and promoting all that CCMC has to offer—keeping healthcare close to home. She is dedicated to leadership and team development, physician recruitment, and enhancing experiences for employees, patients, and providers.
Rachel and her husband, Brad, have lived in Comanche since 2021 with their two sons, Alex and Aiden. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Comanche Educational Foundation, which works to enhance educational opportunities and promote excellence throughout Comanche ISD by supporting scholarships, teacher grants, and student enrichment initiatives.
Deeply committed to her community, Rachel is passionate about improving access to quality healthcare and fostering growth and connection in the place she proudly calls home.
