The new Legacy Estate Long Term Care center was opened to the public for a preview Friday, March 8, 2024, in a “Community Showcase” event, which welcomed people from all around the CCMC Health System service area. Hundreds of people stopped in Friday afternoon to get a first look at the brand-new 60,000sf nursing home, and enjoy refreshments and local music. The Legacy Estate staff, dressed in matching logo shirts, guided visitors through the facility.
Legacy Estate Long Term Care is located at 10133 Highway 16 North, adjacent to the Comanche County Medical Center (CCMC) hospital, pharmacy, and outpatient clinics. It is a purpose-built, beautifully appointed, 76-unit nursing home which, when it opens later this spring to residents, will provide 24/7 care, including longterm and post-acute care. It is a not-for-profit care center wholly owned by Comanche County Consolidated Hospital District (CCCHD).
Major donors to the Legacy Campaign previewed the new center last week at a donor appreciation reception. Combined philanthropic giving to the project thus far has exceeded $1.1 million.
