Scope/Impact
Provides primary care to a designated group of patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Assists in the collection of patient data used to determine nursing needs of the patient. Works with other disciplines to ensure a collaborative approach to the care of the patient.
Job Functions
- Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care
- Meets the communication needs of patient and family
- Provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system.
- Communicates with ED physicians about changes in patient’s status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies.
- Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
- Provides service direct to patients while maintaining a positive patient relations atmosphere.
- Maintain accurate and timely records per policy and procedures.
- Abides by all legal compliance policies, procedures and programs of CCMC, including HIPAA, safety and any other local, state or federal regulations.
- Perform any other duties as required or assigned by supervisor within scope of practice.
